Melissa leads the post-award Grant Management Program for AMP and is assisting in implementing a comprehensive pre-award and compliance electronic Research Administration (eRA) system needed to meet the challenge of significant and sustainable growth in OSU’s research activity. She collaborates and supports project teams, as well as the broader OSU community of grant and finance partners, to create a user-centered design and desired customer journey for grant processes and systems at OSU. 

With over 15 years of experience in higher education, Melissa joins us from her role as Interim Associate Dean of Science, Engineering and Math, as well as the Manager for Grants and Affordability at Linn-Benton Community College. She was the project manager for two significant campus-wide software implementations, supported 60+ part-time faculty, managed annual budgets totaling more than $1.5 million, and oversaw and managed Title III project, STEP Program, Career Pathways, Pathway to Opportunities, and Benefits Navigator grants. Her professional experience also includes work as Crisis Response Manager at the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence (CARDV) in Corvallis; Coordinator for Leadership and Diversity Initiatives at Washington State University; and Regional Advisor of College and University Residence Halls (PACURH). 

Melissa holds a Master of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Arts in French and English Literature from Oregon State University.
